Weekend trips out of town (brief version)

Quick update, I'll expand after I get back from the bank.

The event in Pittsburgh on the 17th went very nicely. I saw a lot of friends I hadn't seen since Pennsic, and made new friends, and danced with some of each. Sunday's names decision meeting was sparsely attended, but we got through the whole (unusually long) docket. I stayed over Sunday night due to finishing late and also the weather; this was a good idea for the purposes of getting home safely, but it totally messed up my sense of what day it was for the entire week. It certainly didn't feel like Friday by the time we left for Pennsylvania again.

This past weekend I had a good time. Would have had an even better time had I gotten any decent sleep on Friday night, but such is life. Crashed with alphaggek and Shannon and Cat. The big activity was, of course, Shannon getting put on vigil and later being inducted into the Order of the Pelican -- along with bytchearse/Jaji (whose full name I can never remember long enough to figure out how to spell correctly). Also saw (in no particular order) h3salthea, edelweiss68, math5, binsteaj, loosecanon, ostgardraine, bunnyjadwiga, siobhan1214, berrick_grvsn, luscious_purple, Marta, Julia, Arpad, Scholastica, John, fosveny, amykb, and a bunch of others I'm sure I'm forgetting right now.

The trip home was through nasty weather, but it had changed over to just rain by the time we got to the DC Beltway, for which I am profoundly grateful. It took most of the evening to de-stress from driving, though.

This coming weekend I'll be going down to southeast Virginia for the Atlantian Kingdom A&S Festival; hope to see a lot of my Atlantian friends there.
