Fourteen years ago today, [livejournal.com profile] montuos and I took the day off from work. We then proceeded to spend almost the entire day putting our signatures and initials on pieces of paper. When it was done, we were owners-with-the-bank of the house we still live in.

It is a tremendous step, I hope you look at it with the same sense of wonder and relief as the day you signed the closing.

SNIP

An anniversary of sorts
SNIP

No it is an nniversary. I very important one. In ancient and medieval times holding land was more important than money. Today having a house means a great deal. No not the power and money (that's kind of true) but the securty in knowing you have a place that is yours.

I remember writing the check to hold our lot, so the house could be built.
I remember the first day the house started being built
Allison has thousands of pictures of the house being built.
I remember the feeling when we got the key.
I remember the joy, ok GLEE of walking into the house, our house the first time.
I also remember the first time I had to take the garbage out. Some things never change.

So enjoy your anniversary!

CONGRADS!!

K

If you had a fifteen year mortgage you'd be almost all paid off by now :D
You're welcome

If we'd had a 15 year mortgage we wouldn't have been able to make the payments. ;-P

Also, we refinanced the mortgage back in 2003, when home loan interest rates bottomed out.
