I have become resigned to the fact that public restrooms (including company washrooms) will generally stock liquid soap I wouldn't bring into my house. Our client's restroom is no exception. However...

Coconut-almond lotion soap is fairly common. But *HOT PINK* coconut-almond lotion soap? Is Just Wrong.

They ran out, and refilled from the ladies' room stock.

There is an odd compulsion to make everything in ladies rooms pink. (Except the paper products, thank God.) I used to eat at a diner that had one where everything in the room was pepto bismol pink. I swore it even *smelled* pink - a very artificial heavy floral "freshener".

I've been yelled at for not using public restroom liquid soap. However, I'm allergic to roughly 99% of them... particularly that hot pink crap. *shudder* Makes me itch for about a day.

It always makes me feel like I'm washing my hands with marzipan. :P

I could seriously do without the "lotion" part, too; it always takes me forever to get the crap rinsed off! I really miss the industrial-strength alcohol-based soap we had here back when I started... Now there was a soap you could rinse off in three seconds flat!

OMG -- I suddenly had a vision of the bright pink ladies' room at Tony Cheng's Mongolian BBQ. *brain bleach*

This is the first time you've seen the hot pink soap? Hot pink soap in coconut-almond or cherry-almond scent is practically a standard around here. I think it's probably very old-fashioned.

Given that nuts and coconut are two of the more common contact allergies, I'm frankly surprised that these places haven't been sued into real soap.

Note to anyone in charge of ordering soap for anywhere public: Really, checking common contact allergens? Not a bad idea.

This is far from the first time I've seen hot pink liquid soap. However, this *is* the first time I've encountered hot pink soap that stunk of anything so cloyingly sweet.

EDIT: OK, I have smelled cloyingly sweet hot pink soap before. But that was bubblegum scent, which does make a sort of perverse sense.

Shades of the "strawberry" cake our college caf used to serve. Everyone on my freshman hall agreed that it tasted pink.

I'm glad I haven't seen the ladies' room there, and hesitate to wonder about the color scheme in the mens' room.

Hot pink! With whaleskin hubcaps! And leather brown cow interior, with big bright baby seal eyes for headlights, yeah!

...wait a moment. What does Denis Leary have to do with this?

The soap in the ladies' room at work is bright pink. It was only mildly disturbing until I saw someone carrying the jug of it in for refills. Stuff that pink should not be stored in translucent jugs that big!
