A day or two before we left for TCEP, I slept wrong and woke up with a swollen throat. It is very painful to swallow. Unfortunately this is resulting in some dehydration on my part; I do try to down as much liquids as I can, when the pain recedes some. (This is very similar to what happened to me during the second week of Pennsic a year ago; I can but hope it will pass as quickly as that did.)

It has not been the busiest convention for me so far, a direct result of my feeling poorly. Nevertheless I've gotten to play some Carabande (though they may not let me play again when I'm half zonked, I do too well in that state), some Fluxx, and some "Fishing for Terrorists" (a really twisted take on Go-Fish with numerous "special" cards).

I shall refer to this post by [livejournal.com profile] montuos for further details of our trip up and a lot of what's happened so far. I will note for the record that the only place I've seen lines for gas was a Shell station on the less populated side of I-95, whose price for regular was still under $3/gal (almost 40 cents/gal less than anywhere else I've seen in Laurel). I'm debating whether to go over now and see (a) if they're open all night and (b) if the price is still comparatively cheap...

Posts from [livejournal.com profile] grayhawkfh and [livejournal.com profile] punkwalrus have also covered many aspects of TCEP that I've neglected to mention. I shall simply refer you to their LJs in general, as Punkie at least has made multiple posts about being here. On one particular topic, suffice to say that the hotel's (new?) ownership has a Great Deal To Answer For.

I'll be online more often on Sunday and Monday, now that I've beaten the hotel's internet connection into submission. Take care everybody!
