Latest update to the Jenny story, first noted here, here, and here:

[livejournal.com profile] herveus came by yesterday afternoon. As rental tow bars were not available for the drag-along-the-road method, we used a modified version of the technique suggested by [livejournal.com profile] ext_42142 and [livejournal.com profile] maugorn (with input from [livejournal.com profile] sskipstress). This involved copious amounts of penetrating oil, a lot of banging on the brake drums with 2 and 3 pound sledges, and torque being applied by use of a stout stick (and in some cases a sledgehammer handle) whilst banging on the drums (and very occasionally the sledge handle). Much iron oxide rained down on the ground underneath the brake drums. After considerable effort, we got both of the wheels to move. YAY! We win! We rolled Jenny halfway down the driveway and cleared the debris away from the driveway under where she had been. [livejournal.com profile] montuos got home about then, and we rolled Jenny up and down a few times before parking her for the night. We then headed off for food, and thence to Ponte Alto Newcomers Night.

So... now, what remains is to get the trailer, get Jenny up on the trailer, and haul her down to Ayrfield. What we could use is a little extra help pushing... so if you're available in Northern Virginia today and can help, we'll be starting between 4:30 and 5 PM.
