Williamsburg in May
May. 18th, 2005 04:23 pmWaaaay too early tomorrow morning (like, 0745) I will be heading out of town and down to Williamsburg. I will not be back until Sunday dinnertime at the absolute earliest, and might not get back until Sunday night or Monday. (Depends on what (if anything) may require my attention in Kinsale on the way home.)
I've been traveling to the 'Burg a lot this year: twice in January, once in April, once this coming weekend, and once more in June, plus Homecoming and who knows what else in the fall. This month, I'm going down for the Third Fehr-well Fest: a reunion of William and Mary Choir members. My mother and some of her friends will be there (my father will be there as a non-singer). I tried to plug this with my own classmates from the Choir (given that we've just celebrated a multiple-of-five anniversary of our graduation), but I don't think anyone but me signed up. So I expect to be the youngest person singing by at least five years; most of the attendees are of my parents' generation or slightly younger. I am informed that my strong voice will be welcomed; I just hope that we have some good tenors for balance. Nevertheless, if I didn't have family going I probably would not be going either.
While I am gone, I will be limited in my online-itude, what with twice-daily rehearsals Thursday through Saturday, but I expect to get *some* online time Friday, and maybe Saturday afternoon during the long lunch break. So if I don't answer emails or LJ posts right away, don't worry. I'll catch up with you. I may also post updates on what we're singing and so forth.
