I've been very spotty about even logging to LJ this month. My apologies if I've missed anything important on friends' LJs these past two weeks; if there's anything you'd like me to see, please point at it in a comment. Meantime, here's a quick birthdays update and a snyopsis of last weekend...

Birthdays Update: So far, this month has seen birthdays from [livejournal.com profile] bend_gules, [livejournal.com profile] janinas_nest, [livejournal.com profile] alienor, [livejournal.com profile] alphaggek, and today's birthday boy [livejournal.com profile] baronadhemar... and as I have been remiss in noting them, here's a collective Happy Birthday to all five of you!

Hippo birdie two ewes (ya sure I shouldn't be spelling that "youse"?)

Hippo birdie deer ewes,
Hippo birdie two ewes!

Synopsis of last weekend: after much confusion during the latter part of the week over logistical details, we left home mid Saturday morning and (with only one pit stop) traveled to the home of Shannon, Cat, and recent birthday guy [livejournal.com profile] alphaggek, who were having a housewarming party. Got there early afternoon, met Shannon's mother. [livejournal.com profile] amykb arrived (with Mary) just before I left; I had messages and goodies to deliver at the Iron Bog event just over the Delaware in Swedesboro NJ. Got there with no difficulty; I delivered birch beer as an autocrat gift to [livejournal.com profile] siobhan1214, who was rather surprised (but I hope in a good way); delivered messages to the other autocrat and to Their Excellencies of Bhakail. Then I got waylaid, in no particular order, by [livejournal.com profile] eldrichgaiman (with a heraldry question), [livejournal.com profile] fabricdragon, [livejournal.com profile] whouseknecht, and [livejournal.com profile] math5 (asking if I wanted to teach at Noisemakers again, which got an affirmative response from me). This ended up taking rather more time than I'd expected to stay at the event, but I didn't mind at all. I did manage to get back over to the housewarming before sunset; [livejournal.com profile] bunnyjadwiga and [livejournal.com profile] juergen had arrived (with Becky) while I was gone. Later on [livejournal.com profile] suba_al_hadid stopped by briefly. While she was there, most of us were watching a movie in the living room while the kids were watching a different flick upstairs. We all laughed fairly loudly at a funny spot in "our" movie and the kids yelled downstairs "Could you keep it quiet down there? We're trying to watch a movie up here!!!" This, of course, triggered even more laughter from us.

Eventually it was time to leave, and we headed up to the Lehigh Valley to spend the night. Sunday, after [livejournal.com profile] maziemaus got home from the SCA event she'd gone to, we went to get Moishe out of hock. Turns out that someone had misread the work order and put in a brand new radiator, instead of just replacing the hoses as I had authorized. It's good to have that written estimate! Luckily the weekend manager on duty was willing to write it off, thus saving his life. Shopping was also accomplished on that leg of the trip. Eventually we made it over to Casa Montuori, where we said hello to [livejournal.com profile] wednesday1971 and wished her and John a safe and uneventful move to California next weekend. It was late though, so we piled all our stuff into Moishe and headed home.

So Moishe has been retrieved, and if we're lucky he'll even pass inspection, though that may require getting down to the Northern Neck within the next few hours. *yawn*
