Latin silliness for a Saturday morning

Please welcome stringlady, aliwodehalle, and elzregina! Perhaps unfortunately, the next message you get to see on my LJ is a bit of Catholic school Latin humor, inspired by isabelladangelo's request for help with a translation (and my attempt to help). Just how much trouble might one get into by inserting/substituting a phrase into a familiar Christian prayer?

Gloria in excelsis Deo,
Et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis.
Laudamus te.
Benedicimus te.
Adoramus te.
Agitabimus te.
Glorificamus te.
Gratias agimus tibi propter magnam gloriam tuam...

My mind is suddenly inserting it into the Laudamus Te movement of Vivaldi's Gloria... (I sang that when I was young enough that it became hard wired.)

I suspect that in some settings of the Gloria (those where adding a phrase would be problematic) it could work as a substitute for "Benedicimus te" (the two words have the same number of syllables and accents in the same spots).

"We will rock you" was what we were attempting to translate...
