damontLast week I was setting up my annual checkup at my new doctor's office. I got hesitant when the admin said "8:30 AM" -- I'm a night owl after all. Then she told me "You'll have to fast for 12 hours prior to the appointment" and I said, "8:30 AM will do nicely, thank you."

Well, bother. According to DCRTV.com, Bonneville Radio has dumped veteran newsman Ira Mellman and afternoon co-anchor Diane Kepley in a cost-cutting move at WTOP.

If a group of my friends decided to have a serious ethanol-binge party it might well end up something like this. And this and this. Although I think "Drinkhammer" is a much better name for the game in the middle comic (when I first saw "WarDrinking" I thought is was a takeoff on "WarDialing"). Thanks (for some definition of "thanks") to Home on the Strange.
So now there is Ubuntu SE. I suppose the logical follow-up is Cthubuntu...

Speaking of coffee, I got a link for free coffee (1.1 oz bag) fromcatwhowalked. Admittedly, it's from Folger's, so some folks might not consider it to be coffee. It certainly isn't Jamie's General Bean, but it is free (monetarily; they want your contact info).
