What are those?

I'll assume this question was meant seriously. DVDs are the video equivalent of CDs. They look suspiciously like CDs, for that matter.

While I have never been convinced that the CD was a true advancement over the vinyl LP recording, the DVD is **worlds** better than any videotape system I've ever seen. Mostly because videotapes are extremely prone to breakage and other related nasty woes, due to how they work. I'm also partial to being able to skip to a particular scene (the equivalent of picking up the needle and putting it where you want on a record), which was incredibly ugly to do with a tape.
