Thanks to principia_coh for pointing this out: Philips "Aurelle" electric LED candles. Wonder if these would be a good thing to take to SCA events, esp. for those dimly lit feast halls...

Looks pretty neat, but I couldn't help but observe:

Marketing

Engineering
Provides six hours of continuous light, if fully charged

Yeah, I noticed that myself. Marketing slime are often stupid, not just slime. 6 hours is still enough for an SCA feast, or even a "candle"-light bardic of modest size. As long as you can charge them up, and wait to turn them on until you actually need them.
