Doing Not Precisely Nothing...
Jul. 16th, 2005 09:57 pmStayed in bed late anyway; we were just washing up when we heard Tony leave for work about 0930. After requiring large amounts of time to regain coherence, Pedro and I went into the shop to start digging. After an orgy of triaging things -- on a damp concrete pad, so no cardboard was allowed to touch the concrete, thus complicating matters immensely -- we got one plastic tub and three full boxen into the van. Other stuff got put back into the shop, but the two Pennsic bins ended up closest to the door whereas they had been *furthest* from the door previously.
We piled into the van and rolled out. Stopped for brunch first, as nobody had really eaten anything yet today. Then, out to Calverton, where we exchanged the one plastic bin (with computer parts) and three cardboard boxen for a different plastic bin (with Pennsic Pavilion parts), a blanket that had been mistakenly left in storage, and a large piece of fabric that I want to make into a cloak for Pennsic, since it's the color of Pennsic dust. (I will *not* be using the entire length for my cloak -- not even close to it -- so will have to come up with uses for the remainder.)
And we all trundled back here. I moved the stuff out of the van and into the shop. And we have mostly vegged since then: I suppose at some point soon we should consider a late bite and then bed.
Tomorrow, I must go through the Pennsic list, updating it as needed, and trying to pin down current locations of everything thereon. Some of it (tent poles, maybe tent canvas and some tarps) is already in Bowie MD at the home of Herveus and Megan, the folks I'm riding up to Pennsic with. (I'm also riding up with Megan this coming weekend to SRWC, as work will keep Herveus from getting there until late. More details about SRWC later in the week for the benefit of others going.) After going through the list, must pack everything that's going to SRWC in one plastic bin (as much as possible). Everything else going to Pennsic goes in the Pennsic bins. This coming Friday it will all go to Bowie -- the SRWC stuff because that starts this Friday, and the Pennsic stuff in hopes that Herveus and Megan will have room to store it for a couple of weeks.
So today was both a restful day and a productive one. I hope that tomorrow will be as good.
