TCEP 12: day four
Managed to muster up enough energy to clear out of the hotel room before the noon checkout deadline. But WhoTF decided the destruction crew could be operating in the atrium *WHILE THE BREAKFAST WAS BEING SERVED THERE?* %$#@!ng idiots!
I think at least half the attendees at TCEP this year are going to come down with some sort of respiratory problem either directly caused, or at least greatly exacerbated, by all the &!^@%#* construction. We were at least offered a significant price break on the room (which we accepted). But were I on the Barking Mad board of directors I'd have a *serious* talk with whoever's managing that hotel next year before committing to going back. The magstripe-style room keys were pieces of utter crap, and that had *nothing* to do with the renovations.
Once we were out of the room we had time for a fast game of "Rat Race" courtesy
blackpaladin, then we went to the Deceased Canine luncheon and came home. As soon as I got home I fell over onto the bed and slept for a few hours; I suspect a lot of tomorrow will be occupied by sleeping in hopes of speeding my recovery.
All in all, I had about as much fun this year as I expected, given that those expectations were heavily altered once I realized that I wasn't well. I'm looking forward to next year's convention.
