It's bad enough that I occasionally envy my Pittsburgh and Ohio Valley friends who have quick access to Eat'n Park for its every-day-of-the-week breakfast buffet. But this morning, my spoiled little id wants to have an Eat'n Park *with free Wi-Fi access*!!! (I may have to pay a visit to Jamie's General Bean later today in partial mollification.)

*grin* I was introduced to Eat 'n Park when I lived in Edinboro and Erie PA from 1995-97. I later introduced Ryan to it when we went to our first Pennsic, Pennsic 28, stopping at the Grove City one I passed on the Christmas Eve morning that resulted in my move back to NY. :)

Lord..how many times I hit up the Eat'n Park in the morning on the way to my internship at the Carnegie...damn, now I miss the place!

*sigh*

Waitaminute. You envy Pittsburghers not for our universities, not for our affordable housing, not for Primanti's, but for Eat'n Park?! Oh dear. Eat'n Park is where we go when we've exhausted the non-fast-food options. Ok, if I did breakfast maybe I'd feel differently; a buffet is (mostly) a remedy for the place's big failing, which is service. (Their food is fine, if you can get them to bring it to you.)

There are many reasons to envy y'all. Affordable housing, certainly. (Let's see, was that *three* halves of a duplex we could buy for the same price as our current house in NoVa? [livejournal.com profile] demonlurking and [livejournal.com profile] wanderingpixie have pointed out possibilities recently, drat them ;> ). Universities, yes yours are nice, but the FedroSplat is no slacker in that department. Primanti's I haven't been to, nor most of the dining spots you've mentioned in your own LJ... though eventually I'd love to visit them all.

But when my tummy is jonesing for breakfast (and lots of it), *that* is when I envy you guys for Eat'n Park.

Ah, ok.

Do you have Ponderosa where you are? Their hot-foods buffet is always on, and I've seen breakfast foods there mid-day on Sundays. (I can't speak to breakfast/brunch time on other days.)

We don't have any of those nearby; the only one within 60 miles is 55 miles away.

(I note with amusement that we passed the aforemetioned 55-miles-away Ponderosa on our way south last weekend, 3 Feb to be precise. It had a big banner across the front proclaiming "Free Internet Inside!" I'm glad [livejournal.com profile] montuos was driving, 'cos I just busted out laughing for a couple minutes in light of my whine in the original post.)

No Primanti's?

Next time you're in town, try to get to one. It's like going to Philly and not getting a cheese steak!
