With the winter storm track still nebulous, my plans are still up in the air. We've tentatively cancelled plans to go southeast to the Northern Neck. If the storm track goes more EAST-ish, then there won't be significant amounts of ugly in western PA, and I'll be coming to Pittsburgh for the BMDL event and the Pelican meeting. (Yes, I've warned Margaret.) But if the storm track goes more WEST-ish it'll dump a lot on western MD/west-central PA, and *that* would put the kibosh on me going to Pgh. (Westward track would also make it possible that we'd go to the Neck after all.)

This will be updated later today as events unfold. EDIT 9 pm: The weather is favorable for going northwest and *NOT* favorable for going southeast. So, Pittsburgh here I come. Yes, it's likely to be a late arrival, but traveling tomorrow morning looks too dicey. So I'm heading out now-ish. See some of you later tonight, and others tomorrow or Sunday. Safe travel to everyone who's going places this weekend.

all comments initially screened, pretty much because I felt like it. No offense intended to anyone.

So I'm guessing between the two of us we're playing mental pingpong with this storm? ;)

"No, YOU can have it..."
"Oh, but I *insist*..."
"Ladies first"
"Age before beauty."

*giggle*

*chuckle*

Perhaps. But I think *youse* up in NJ/NY/CT (and eastern PA) are going to get pounded either way.

I'm tyring to come up with a suitable comment for a screened thing, but I'm too tired.

I now have "Blow, Gabriel Blow" from ANything Goes stuck in my head.

There. ::falls over::

I hope we get to see you at the event. Local predictions are currently 2-4 inches Saturday and vague ideas about maybe some trivial additional snow Sunday, but of course that could change -- or be wrong in the first place. :-)

Whatever you do this weekend, I hope you do it safely!

(Don't worry, this impending storm has also provoked my own crisis of indecision over what to do this weekend....)

Well the forecast on the radio this morning was calling for 2-4 inches over the weekend. Not that they necessarily know what they're talking about ^_^ But it's another data point for you, anyway.

Yeah. Thank God I don't have to be anywhere this weekend. I told the remaining 2 people oweing (sp?) me money for eBay sales to please pay before 9am tomorrow EST, else Monday is the next earliest chance to ship.

Snow doesn't start until the afternoon, but I don't want to be caught in the "God I need to go to the food store now before the snow hits!" rush.

Current forecast for the weekend: 10-12", Norwich, CT, by Sunday night.

http://www.wunderground.com/ is saying 80% chance on Saturday, accumulations 1-3 inches, with another inch Saturday night. (Any chance of me getting various rides if I do make it up there?)

Friday night and Monday look okay for driving though.
