It was a busy weekend for the most part.

Friday night I decided that cuddling with [livejournal.com profile] montuos overnight was worth getting up waaaaay too early amd making Williamsburg a day trip. So on Saturday I got up at 0500 in order to get my butt down to the 'Burg. Made good time and didn't tick off the constabulary; had breakfast with four Alumni Band people and then went to the meeting, which was productive but ran long. (Side note to [livejournal.com profile] blaisedec: I'd like to set up a mailing list for the ABO board. Possible?) Ran a couple of errands while I was in town. On the drive home I discovered gasoline for just under $2 per gallon outside of Richmond, which was nice. The ride north from Richmond (up The Big Highway Where Everyone Thinks The Big Blue '95' Signs Indicate The Recommended Travel Speed) was made more stressful than anticipated by traffic which exceeded expectations in both quantity and stupidity.

When I got home on Saturday afternoon, I was frazzled from dealing with traffic, so I napped a bit in addition to washing up. Then I went up to Craig and Carrie's. They were hosting a party whose nominal excuse was celebrating the birthdays of [livejournal.com profile] killernurd (15 days previous), myself (1 day previous) and [livejournal.com profile] fuzzface00 (spot on). It's nice that all of us have overlapping friends sets, often with connections one might not expect; I don't think anyone there knew fewer than four other attendees. It was nice to see [livejournal.com profile] grayhawkfh, [livejournal.com profile] herveus, [livejournal.com profile] pedropadrao, [livejournal.com profile] byronczimmer, [livejournal.com profile] principia_coh, [livejournal.com profile] blaisedec, [livejournal.com profile] nostasia, [livejournal.com profile] jastaelf, [livejournal.com profile] bhenders82, and [livejournal.com profile] centuren there, along with many folks who don't do LJ as far as I can tell. (Or I've forgotten they were there, or I don't know their LJ handles.) It was also *very* nice to see [livejournal.com profile] jaine_parr and [livejournal.com profile] orlaith there, even if you did have to take off early. I hope to see you again soon!

There was much food. There was much friendly company. There was much gaming. I elected to get into a game of Railroad Tycoon, which can take a long time especially with some first-time players. Much to my surprise, I ended up winning, thanks mostly to my completing the New York to Kansas City line plus a Western Link, because the bonus for that did come up. (And this time, I managed to do it in a *slightly* more direct fashion. I did *not* end up building Beechwood Boulevard this time!)

After that we played Blokus (first time for many of us), which is also a neat game. I don't think Fuzz wants to sit just to my left again when playing it, though. Then we helped clean things up, and headed for home, getting there a little after 2800 (i.e. 0400 when you haven't slept yet). So a 23-hour waking day came to an end.

Sunday I got up around 0900 and tried to get myself to some semblance of coherence in time to get down to Sharon Chapel and sing with [livejournal.com profile] blaisedec and [livejournal.com profile] nostasia. Yesterday was Quinquagesima Sunday (50 days until Easter, counting both ends), which means that tomorrow is Mardi Gras, and we begin the Lent/Easter singing season the following day (Ash Wednesday). (Which means that yes, you can expect some appearances by the singing hamster icon that [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin made for me in the next two months.) The rest of the day was spent resting after so much activity that had gone before.

Plus [livejournal.com profile] principia_coh, whose birthday has yet to arrive, although I'm blanking on the date now.
