Yesterday, I went up to Herndon. Aside from picking up bread from Great Harvest, I also stopped in at The Closet, a thrift store just down the street from the bakery. At the thrift store I scored some Farberware cooking utensil stuff (one pot with matching lid, plus one lid to a pot we already have) for a couple of bucks. AND I got an old-school (read: closed-loop handle) Pyrex measuring cup... for a quarter. Count me one satisfied shopper.

I use a quart/liter-size one to heat water in the microwave, daily, for a French-press coffee-maker, and the closed-loop handle gets a wee bit too hot for comfort. And the pint-size one has a loop too too small for me to get enough fingers through.
